Carbon management urgent: business
Top business leaders from the Pacific Rim say energy security and carbon management are "major and urgent problems" that governments must address by investing heavily in research and development and implementing clear regulatory frameworks.
A panel of six global business leaders meeting at Sydney's Opera House recommended that Asia-Pacific leaders leverage the full global power of business and consumers by instituting policies that are transparent, predictable and steady.
The moderator of the panel at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business summit and chairman of PFC Energy, Robin West, said governments must send clear signals to investors and consumers that were complementary to national frameworks.
