As part of the launch of a new global communication initiative – Climate Action – Achim Steiner, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme recognises that companies who rise to the challenge of climate change will be the industry leaders of the 21st Century.
Climate Action is being produced by Sustainable Development International in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The communications initiative, which includes a publication and website aims to educate businesses, governments and NGOs as to how to reduce their carbon footprint and adapt to the impacts of climate change. In addition, it will aid institutional investors in analysing and comparing the ways companies handle the business risks and opportunities associated with global warming.
