
The vast majority of the world's largest companies issued stand-alone non-financial reports addressing climate change, according to CorporateRegister.com.
The online directory of non-financial reports released a study of the Global FT500. Eighty-seven percent of the reports addressed climate change, while 78 percent published greenhouse gas emissions data.
"Corporate Climate Communications Report 2007" assesses companies' communications on climate change, rather than their carbon performance, CorporateRegister.com said.
"The world's largest companies are voluntarily disclosing valuable information on climate change issues, including quantified, verified data and specific targets," said CorporateRegister.com’s Paul Scott. "The era of wholesale corporate climate change denial is over: We may now be witnessing the beginnings of corporate climate activism."
