
Given that the European Audit Office has raised questions about the books for 13 years running, is it so surprising that MEPs don´t want their expenditure and hiring practices looked into and transparent.
They should be ashamed of themselves.
And we are supposed to respect and treat seriously this lot!

Members of the European Parliament have rejected greater transparency with regard to their expenses and staff again.
The European ombudsman, the administrative watchdog for the EU, decided in September that MEPs should provide details of their wage bills and expenses claims.
In a reply last Friday, the Financial Times reports, a group of senior MEPs who run the house refused, on the basis of privacy concerns.
