One Week Left To Speak Up For The Endangered Species Act


There is just week remaining to make your voice heard on the Endangered Species Act. 48 species on the island of Kauai will be added to the list by the Hawaii government, as their futures are uncertain.

While it is a good thing they are adding them to the list, the same US Secretary of Interior has been considering a move that would set back many protections of the Act.

If adopted, the proposed changes would seriously weaken the safety net of habitat protections that we have relied upon to protect and recover endangered fish, wildlife and plants for the past 35 years.

As this recent news from Hawaii demonstrates, now more than ever, we need to maintain the strong protections of the Endangered Species Act.
