ICAEW launches green business training course

Corporate responsibility lessons to be learned over the internet

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales has launched an online training course on 'sustainable' business.

The five-module course, which was developed by KPMG and mining giant Anglo America, covers topics including making business more environmentally friendly and corporate social responsibility.

The course reflects growing pressure on business to take green issues and social responsibility more seriously.

'We believe this is the first e- learning programme to address the financial perspectives of business sustainability,' said ICAEW chief executive Michael Izza. 'By developing this e-learning programme the accountancy profession offers their expertise to this debate by helping businesses to develop the tools and provide the information needed to assess how their efforts are contributing to a sustainable world.'
