
The UK has the potential to become a global leader in low carbon technologies, an environmental group has said.
Chris Hewett, an associate at Green Alliance, claimed that the manufacturing workforce is well placed to develop skills in the green sector.
His comments follow a manifesto pledge by the Liberal Democrats to create 57,000 green jobs. The party would invest £400 million upgrading disused shipyards to enable the production of offshore wind turbines.
