
I constantly work with corporate responsibility executives and directors of human resources to create programs that impact the communities they want to serve as well as the employees whose lives they want to enrich outside of work. I connected with Louise Raymond, VP of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability for The McGraw-Hill Companies, last fall to help as she created a program for educating grade-school children about financial literacy with the help of McGraw-Hill volunteers and teachers. Together, we incorporated The Nickels, Dimes, and Dollars Book: A Wise Kid’s Guide to Money Matters, which empowers elementary and grade school children to learn about financial fundamentals. (The campaign was one of the efforts for which McGraw-Hill was recently named one of the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” by Corporate Responsibility Magazine.)
