
Following the launch of the Global Corruption Report: Climate Change two weeks ago, this Wednesday Transparency International is holding an event in Brussels on the importance of climate governance in the EU.
Some of the questions to be discussed at this Policy Dialogue include: is the European carbon market suffering from weak governance and if so, what are the implications for environment and economy? Given that a European low-carbon economy will be largely built on natural resources that originate from countries characterized by weak governance or corruption, what risks does this pose for Europe? What more could the EU do to promote effective climate governance?
