Islamic Financial Services Board secretary-general Rifaat Ahmed Abdel Karim said yesterday that in the absence of effective corporate governance it was unlikely that any corporate organisation including Islamic financial service institutions could survive and prosper.
Speaking at the opening session of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB) summit at the Sheraton yesterday he said the importance of corporate governance for ensuring the integrity of the Islamic financial services industry was among the issues that continued to be intensely debated worldwide.
