Ex-DWS chief takes chair at governance group


Former DWS chief executive Christian Strenger has been named chairman of the International Corporate Governance Network , succeeding Alastair Ross Goobey.

Strenger is a member of the German government's commission on corporate governance and the author of the Code of Best Practice for quoted German companies. He is a board member at BASF, Fraport and Deutsche Bank fund arm DWS among others.

"ICGN has an unprecedented opportunity to take the corporate governance agenda forward in particular through focusing upon new issues such as the governance of institutional investors and intensified dialogue with corporations," Strenger said.
