Infosys complies with Sarbanes Oxley Act


Infosys Technologies Ltd, India's second largest IT bellwether, has complied with the US' Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX Act) much ahead of the mandatory deadline of March 31, 2007.

In a statement here Tuesday, the Nasdaq-listed firm said the certification by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) last week made it among the early foreign companies to achieve the milestone.

The act was passed by US Congress to protect investors from the possibility of fraudulent accounting activities by corporations.

KPMG, the independent auditors, evaluated and verified the company's assessment and issued an unqualified opinion.
