
"Dismay....heartbreaking......disappointment" These are the words being used by those involved in this process referring to its breakdown.
"Nonsense" is the word I use.
There is nothing to be surprised about with the latest breakdown of this seven-year Doha Round.
The developed countries tried to get away cheaply with liberalization in the poor countries, as they have done before, and the poor countries didn´t let them get away with it this time......as they shouldn´t.
Rick countries need to wake up and liberlize, not just talk about it. Until they do, poor countries will not open up, even though it would be in their overall interests to do so anyway.
Politics has won over economics.
Nevertheless, it is true that the world economy will be poorer because of the breakdown.
