Generali seeks boardroom shift


What is surprising is that an old style company, italian no less, with an elderly Chairman who has been around for a long time is now opening up to its shareholders, apparently voluntarily, and sharing with them potential board changes which will result in superior governance.

Generali leadership need to be congratulated!

Senior managers at Generali, one of Europe’s largest insurers, are considering canvassing shareholders on a boardroom shake-up that could trigger broader governance reforms.

The initiative, which would need shareholder approval in director elections at the end of April, would lead to more business people on the board in place of experts from other areas.
